Save the Dates: Moving Image Exhibition “Screens in the White Box” Public Program & Events
Creative Asia Foundation invites audiences to the opening of Screens in the White Box, a moving image exhibition bringing together 20 emerging artists and creators from diverse cultural backgrounds at Creative Asia Art Centre in Docklands.
Opening this August, Screens in the White Box explores what happens when moving image leaves the traditional cinema and enters the white-cube gallery.
Presented at Creative Asia Art Centre, the eight-day exhibition brings together film, animation, moving-image installation and interdisciplinary screen practices, featuring works by emerging artists and creators with cultural connections spanning China, Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Nepal, Ukraine, Greece, Zimbabwe, New Zealand and Australia.
Rather than focusing solely on finished screen works, Screens in the White Box invites audiences to encounter the creative processes behind them. Alongside the exhibited works, visitors will be able to discover selected behind-the-scenes and production materials, offering a closer look at how ideas are developed, tested and transformed through different stages of artistic production.
The exhibition also creates a meeting point between moving image and sound. A number of composers and music creators involved in music for film will participate in the program, opening opportunities for filmmakers, animators, composers, sound designers and audiences to connect across disciplines and exchange ideas around image, sound and creative practice.
Selected animation artists will also present limited artist-made merchandise and art products during the exhibition.
Opening Reception
Creative Asia Foundation warmly invites artists, filmmakers, composers, creative practitioners and members of the public to join us for the official opening reception of Screens in the White Box.

The opening reception will be an opportunity to experience the exhibition, meet participating artists and creators, and celebrate the launch of the program together at Creative Asia Art Centre.
Public Screening Sessions
As part of the public program, Screens in the White Box will present two dedicated screening sessions:
Thursday, 3 September 2026 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Friday, 4 September 2026 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Full screening programs and participating works will be announced soon.
Audience Choice Award & Closing Night
Throughout the exhibition, visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite work. The work receiving the highest number of audience votes will receive the Audience Choice Award, including a cash prize.
The winner will be announced during the exhibition’s Closing Night:
