MELBOURNE, 19 June 2026 — Safestudy Film Lab Program is a new collaborative film creation project organized by Women and Children Protection and Development Inc. (AWCPD), with support by Study Melbourne, Creative Asia Foundation, World Trade Centre, Australia Multi Art & Culture Council Incorporated (AMACC), Le Grange Gallery .The project invites international students in Melbourne to use film as a creative tool to focus on scam awareness, community safety, and shared storytelling.

In a multicultural city shaped by migration, global education, and continuous mobility, international students are often left to navigate unfamiliar institutions, language barriers, and new social landscapes alone. These sudden environmental shifts often make them highly susceptible to online fraud, misinformation, and social isolation.

Safestudy Film Lab Program responds to the growing impact of fraud and scam on international students, aiming to provide a supportive space for young people to learn, create, and express themselves from their own experiences. Through short film production, Safestudy Film Lab Program aims to turn real issues about security, trust and cultural adaptation into stories that are easier to understand and disseminate, helping to raise awareness and empower the wider community.

A public information session will be held on 19 June 2026 to introduce the workshop program, recruitment process, and project objectives. Following the launch, selected participants will work alongside filmmakers, creative practitioners, and industry mentors to develop original short film concepts addressing scam prevention, safety, and community resilience.
