MELBOURNE, APRIL 2026 — Creative Asia Foundation presents Emerging Art Beat 2026, a group exhibition bringing together a dynamic cohort of emerging artists at Creative Asia Art Centre.

Running from April to May 2026, the exhibition showcases works across painting, installation, sculpture, digital media, and interdisciplinary practices, reflecting the diversity and urgency of contemporary artistic voices.

This year’s exhibition is guided by the theme “Distributed Worlds: Where Do We Go From Here?”, inviting artists to respond to a world shaped by fragmentation, acceleration, and uneven systems of value. Across the exhibition, artists explore how identity, memory, labour, and perception are dispersed across cultural, technological, and social structures.

At its core, Distributed Worlds considers what it means to exist within systems that are constantly shifting—where stability is uncertain, and meaning is continuously negotiated.

“Distributed Worlds is not about resolving fragmentation, but about learning how to exist within it—where multiple realities, identities, and experiences can coexist without being reduced to a single narrative.”

Rather than presenting a unified perspective, the exhibition unfolds as a constellation of individual practices. From intimate reflections on memory and embodiment to critical examinations of power, labour, and consumption, the works collectively position art as a space for reflection, resistance, and reimagination.

As with previous Creative Asia Foundation initiatives, Emerging Art Beat 2026 extends beyond exhibition-making, fostering dialogue between artists, audiences, and community. By supporting emerging practitioners from diverse backgrounds, the program continues to create a platform where new ideas, identities, and connections can emerge.

The opening event will bring together artists and audiences for an evening of exchange, offering a first encounter with the works and the conversations they generate.
