Notice of Special General Meeting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special General Meeting of the Association will be held:

• Date: 15 November 2025

• Time: 1:00 - 2:00 pm

• Location: Creative Asia Art Centre

Purpose of the Meeting

The purpose of this Special General Meeting is to consider and, if thought fit, pass the following special resolution(s):

Agenda

1. Resolution to Amend the Rules for ACNC Compliance

The following proposed resolution is to address matters raised by the ACNC in correspondence dated 30 September 2025, in relation to the association’s application for charity registration:

• Correction of Financial Year-End Clause

  That Rule of the Association’s Rules be amended to reflect that the financial year ends on 30 June, to align with the details provided in the ACNC application.

  
  

• Addition of DGR Revocation Clause

  That the following DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) revocation clause be inserted into the Association’s Rules to meet DGR eligibility requirements:

  “In the event that the organisation’s deductible gift recipient endorsement is revoked, any remaining deductible gift recipient funds must be transferred to another DGR-endorsed charity with similar objects.”

These amendments will be submitted as part of the updated application to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

2. Endorsement to Continue Support for Event/Activities Partnership

That the Association continues its partnership and support role for Asian Fashion Week/Multicultural Art Festival, including related branding, sponsorship, and event delivery collaborations in 2026.

Details of the proposed ongoing collaboration and budgetary implications will be presented at the meeting for member discussion and endorsement.

Voting and Proxy

All financial members are entitled to attend and vote at the meeting. If you are unable to attend, you may nominate a proxy using the proxy form. Completed proxies must be received by 14 November 2025 12 pm.
