Melbourne VIC - September 29, 2024 - An Engaging Seminar on the Fusion of Eastern and Western Cultures

It was a dazzling exchange of Eastern and Western cultures, allowing us to experience the charm of cross-cultural art. Organized with the support of the Study Melbourne, Creative Asia Foundation, Artspie, Multi Art And Culture Association (MAAC), and Le Grange Gallery, this seminar featured Dr. Angelina Mirabito, an Italian-Australian performance artist, trauma novelist, and nonfiction writer.

Romantic Dialogue Between Chinese and Italian Art:

Dr. Mirabito explored the power of cultural fusion, drawing parallels between Chinese and Italian traditional art. She emphasized "spiritual resonance" and "white space" in Chinese painting alongside the emotional depth of Italian Renaissance art. This cross-cultural blend creates a unique art form that reflects the best of both worlds.

Masterpiece Showcase:

Highlighting works by Xubing and Lorenzo Quinn, Dr. Mirabito showed how traditional elements can be innovatively used in modern art. Xubing's Book from the Sky and Quinn's sculptures exemplify the fusion of heritage with contemporary issues, inspiring new artistic expressions.
