About the event
Create Your Own Original Character
During the workshop, participants will use the same kind of plasticine that the artist uses in their films to create their own small claymation character. You’ll begin by imagining your character’s personality and learn how to express it through different shapes, colours and design choices.
The artist will demonstrate practical modelling techniques, including mixing colours, building a solid form, smoothing the plasticine and adding finer details. At the end, all the characters will come together for a group photoshoot—and, of course, you’ll be able to take your character home with you!
Presented as part of SCREENS: Moving Image Exhibition in the White Box, this workshop invites participants to discover moving-image making through imagination, experimentation, and play.
No previous animation experience is required — just bring your creativity and be ready to make your characters move!
