Grad Girls Victoria 2026 Kick Off

The Grad Girls Tech Kick Off Event marked the exciting beginning of the 2026 Grad Girls program, bringing together aspiring women in technology, industry leaders and mentors to launch a year of learning, networking and career development.

Hosted as part of the Women 4 STEM initiative, the event introduced participants to the program’s vision of supporting women throughout their STEM journeys by providing practical opportunities to connect, grow and thrive in the technology sector. 

The evening included a welcome session, program overview and insights from guest speaker Prathay Chandrakumar, Acting Director of Digital Economy and Innovation Policy, who shared perspectives on the evolving digital economy and the opportunities ahead for women entering the technology workforce. 

Participants also had the opportunity to engage with industry partners through a dynamic networking activity featuring multiple stations hosted by organisations across the technology ecosystem. Each station offered short interactive sessions where students could meet professionals, learn about career pathways, receive LinkedIn advice and even capture a professional headshot. 

The Grad Girls program continues throughout the year with workshops, mentoring sessions, networking events and industry panels designed to help students build confidence, expand their networks and prepare for careers in technology. 

The Kick Off Event set the tone for an inspiring year ahead—connecting the next generation of women in tech with the community, resources and support needed to succeed.
