ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Between Earth & Sky — Solo Exhibition by Bobby Matharu
We are delighted to present Between Earth & Sky, a solo exhibition by Australian-Indian artist Bobby Matharu , a passionate explorer, paraglider, surfer, and storyteller through paint.
Inspired by flight, movement, nature, and the changing Australian landscape, Bobby’s works transform light, colour, ocean, sky, and open space into deeply poetic visual experiences. His paintings invite viewers into moments of stillness and reflection, where the natural world becomes a bridge between emotion, memory, and spiritual contemplation.
Through vibrant coastlines, glowing sunsets, expansive fields, and dreamlike horizons, the exhibition explores freedom, connection, and the quiet dialogue between humanity and nature — observing the sky, the earth, and the self within.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
From Bobby Matharu
“My work is rooted in a deep connection to landscape, shaped by a love for movement, adventure, and open space. As a paraglider pilot, kite surfer, and adventure bike rider, I experience the world not just from the ground, but from shifting perspectives—above coastlines, across vast plains, and through remote terrains. These journeys inform my paintings, where land, ocean, and sky flow into one continuous rhythm. I am drawn to expansive environments—mountains, rugged coastlines, and wide Australian fields—where light becomes the central storyteller. The play of sunlight over water and land, especially during fleeting moments of sunrise or sunset, is a recurring theme. Warm yellows and glowing oranges contrast with cooler blues and greens, capturing both stillness and movement, as if time pauses for a brief moment. Through my work, I seek to translate not just what I see, but what I feel in those moments— freedom, scale, and a quiet sense of belonging. The compositions often carry an aerial sensibility, reflecting the experience of flight and the intimacy of observing vast spaces from above. "
