In March 2026, New Star Art School successfully presented its annual student and adult exhibition, Art in Light, at the Creative Asia Art Centre. More than a showcase of artistic achievement, the exhibition served as a meaningful rite of passage centred on the philosophy of “Let Every Child Be Seen.”
The most distinctive feature of this exhibition was that every enrolled student participated as an exhibiting artist. Each student had at least one artwork displayed in the gallery, accompanied by their name and age. Regardless of how long they had studied, every child was given the opportunity to present their work in a professional exhibition space. This inclusive and respectful curatorial approach created a powerful confidence-building experience for the students.
The theme Art in Light symbolises imagination, expression, and the transformative power of being seen. This semester, students explored Ancient Egyptian art as their creative focus. From hieroglyphic symbols to colour composition, they reinterpreted elements of an ancient civilisation through their own perspectives, demonstrating both the depth and breadth of cross-cultural arts education.
To ensure a high-quality exhibition presentation, the school carefully mounted hundreds of artworks, coordinated size planning, verified labelling, and implemented a professionally designed installation layout. Following the exhibition, a commemorative photo album will be produced to preserve each student’s precious milestone of exhibiting as an artist for the first time.
This exhibition not only showcased the artistic accomplishments of the students but also reflected New Star Art School’s 30-year commitment to encouraging creative expression and nurturing independent exploration. By presenting student work within a public exhibition platform, the school continues to promote community engagement in the arts and strengthen recognition of the value of children’s arts education among families and society.
